Girls Incorporated of Owensboro-Daviess County works tirelessly every day to inspire young women of our community to be strong, smart and bold.

An important part in forming those characteristics in our young, impressionable women is to provide a role model — someone who can open their eyes to the possibilities of what anyone, man or woman, can do.

One of the ways Girls Incorporated does that is with its annual Athena Awards program. In partnership with the chamber, Girls Incorporated will present the 2014 Athena Award to someone who has attained and personified the highest level of professional excellence in their business or profession, has donated time and energy to the community in a meaningful way and, most especially, has generously assisted women in attaining their full potential.
