The Hot Chocolate Challenge
Junior Achievement of West Kentucky is partnering with the Kentucky Innovation Network, the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation and the Owensboro Convention Center to host the inaugural Hot Chocolate Challenge for local elementary students. This event will be held this upcoming Saturday, Nov. 22, on the lawn at the Owensboro Convention Center (in the event of inclement weather, it will be held inside the convention center) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This event is in collaboration with other events celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week. Six teams of area 4th and 5th grade students will be use their entrepreneurial talents to sell their “company’s” hot chocolate this Saturday as part of this event. As they will be competing with five other teams, these students will have to think innovatively and creatively to set their product apart from all of the rest! We have used our JA curriculum to better prepare these teams for their business venture!
With that said, the biggest thing that these students will need on Saturday is customers! If you have some extra time and a craving for hot chocolate, please be sure to stop by and purchase some from our teams! They will be excited to see you!
