About Us

Melanin Children Matter Inc. is committed to transforming healthcare access, equity, and representation for medically underrepresented children—particularly Black and Brown youth impacted by rare diseases, autism, and neurodevelopmental conditions. We fund research, accelerate diagnosis, support families, and amplify the voices of those too often ignored in medical systems.

Core Values

1. Equity in Action

We challenge systemic barriers in research, care, and diagnostics to ensure every child—regardless of race or ZIP code—receives timely, compassionate, and culturally informed medical support.

2. Lived Experience Leadership

We believe that the voices of parents, patients, and communities should drive change—not be an afterthought. Our work is led by those who live it every day.

3. Science with Accountability

We invest in ethical, community-centered research and advocate for biospecimen ownership, data justice, and transparency in genetic discovery.

4. Early Access Saves Lives

We work to end delayed diagnoses by improving early screening, supporting inclusive biobanking, and funding direct access to evaluation and intervention.

5. Healing as Resistance

We acknowledge the grief, trauma, and resilience in our communities. Our programs center healing, hope, and honoring the legacy of the children we fight for.
