The Daniel Pitino Shelter, Inc. was established in 1994 to address the growing problem of homelessness in the area and to make available additional Emergency and Transitional Housing with essential services for homelessness. The shelter's purpose is to assist homeless in the transition from homelessness to permanent housing. The three goals of the transitional program are: 1) To help participants obtain and remain in permanent housing. 2) To help participants increase skills and/or income. 3) To help participants achieve greater self determination.
